Preparing your fibre
These are brief descriptions of how we prepare your fibre each step of the way

Scouring and Tumbling
We use Unicorn Power Scour to gently wash your wool. After washing, we tumble the wool to shake out any remaining debris.

Opening
The opening process prepares the fibres for carding. We send the fibres through to loosen and separate them. Once in the blower room, we condition them to help them card efficiently.

Carding
Carding is the process of aligning fibres for spinning or felting projects.

Pin-Drafting
Pin-drafting runs the carded fibre through a series of pins that further straighten and even out the fibres. This process makes the roving smoother and more consistent for spinning.

Spinning and plying
We are working on getting this service online. Please be patient with us while we work through this.

Skein or Cone
We can package your completed yarn order in cones or skeins, in the lengths you prefer. Our wonderful handmade machine works great and keeps things in a really nice, packaged look. We hope you agree too.
