Fiber Processing
As of July 5th 2025 our current turn around time on orders is about a week and a half.
We’re so excited to work with you and your beautiful fiber! We know how much hard work goes into raising animals and producing quality raw wool, and we want to make sure that hard work pays off. Our goal is to work closely with you every step of the way to ensure you receive the exact product you’re envisioning. You’ve put so much care into creating this fiber — and we’re here to help turn it into something just as special.
Souring Wool
At our mill, we use only Unicorn Power Scour — a gentle, biodegradable wool wash made for natural fibers. With carefully managed temperatures and no agitation, our process protects the integrity of the fleece while removing dirt and lanolin. The result: clean, soft wool that’s ready for its next transformation
Wool Roving
Your fiber is gently transformed into roving through a careful, hands-on process. Once washed and opened, it’s passed through our mechanical carding machine to begin aligning the fibers. From there, it moves to the combing machine, which refines and smooths the strands into consistent, easy-to-draft roving. The result is beautifully prepared fiber — ready for spinning, felting, or any creative project you have in mind.
Wool Cloud
This is wool in its lightest, fluffiest form — tumbled, opened, and air-blown into a lofty texture that’s ideal for spinning, felting, or crafting. Clean and debris-free, cloud wool is a versatile base for both hand use and further mill processing.
Wool Yarn
Our yarn is thoughtfully spun using a blend of traditional handcraft and modern machinery through our Belfast Mini Mill system. We offer a range of ply options to suit your project needs — from single-ply for a rustic, lofty texture to 2-ply, 3-ply, or even 4-ply for added strength, balance, and stitch definition. Whether you’re knitting, crocheting, or weaving, our yarn is crafted to bring out the best in your fiber.
Wool Batt
Our batts are created using a hand-operated carding machine, giving us close control over texture and loft. After the wool reaches its cloud stage, it’s carefully carded into thick, even sheets ideal for felting, quilting, or custom textile work. Each batt reflects the hands-on care that goes into every step of the process.
Skein or Cone
Finished yarn is offered in skeins for handcrafting or cones for efficiency and machine use. Both formats are wound with care to maintain the structure and softness of the yarn, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your project.
